A poem from early this year:
In the Throes of Urgency
My teeth aren't perfect
My bite is uneven
and my front teeth don't touch
My molars
display damage
otherwise invisible
Some no longer have curved tops
revealing the truth
of how tightly
I've kept my mouth shut
My jaw aches as I try
to gingerly
hold
your lip
between my teeth
I’m sorry if I break skin
My incisors desperately compensate
for the lack
of the others taking hold
and all of me
wants to hold you
I'm sorry
if I hold you
too tightly
My tendons flare with the fear of letting go
Updates since last month:
In an unprecedented turn of events, I wrote a 67k-word fanfiction in a little over a month. That is, literally, the length of a short novel.
I have never felt so moved to write like I have in these past few months. It's been freeing too, knowing it's all been for personal enjoyment! Serotonin is flowing through me in oceanic quantities.
The fanfiction I wrote was meant to be a short, meet-cute AU for Hannibal and Will. 67k words do NOT meet that criterion. Scenes unfurled and I grew to love the new lives I gave them; an entire story created itself.
For anyone who hasn't seen the show…if you're curious about it, I will only encourage you to watch it. I got a Hannibal tattoo for my upcoming birthday; that is how much of an impact it has on me.
~ANYWAY~
You don't even need to see the show to read this one if you want to. The only connections with the show are the characters and a few overlapping details about their jobs/interests.
My new fanfic: Thanking the Sun For Shining
ALSO. My first fanfic, “Hook, Wine, & Sinker,” has over 2.5k views now??? I’m speechless.
I never had a Tumblr or anything like that growing up, so cheers to finally having my fandom/fanfic phase! I love the community I’ve found and am still swooning from all the support I’m given!
See you next month!
